I.D.O.T. Begins Resurfacing of Cermak Rd.

Berwyn, IL (August 2018)   -- The City of Berwyn was notified this afternoon by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) that resurfacing of Cermak Rd. between Cicero Ave. and Harlem Ave. will begin tomorrow, Thursday, August 30th, 2018.  This resurfacing project will also include ADA sidewalk ramps.  The majority of construction in Berwyn will continue through December of this year with a few traffic signals set to be replaced in the first half of 2019.  During this construction period, parking on Cermak Rd. will be interrupted; the City of Berwyn encourages residents to utilize the vacin fairway parking found just north of Cermak Rd. CITY’S WATER CONSIDERED SAFE BY EPA

In response to a recent report from The Chicago Tribune, it was insinuated that Berwyn water is unsafe to drink. Please be assured that this is not the case; Berwyn’s drinking water is safe and follows all standards set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency. 

In February of 2016, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Drinking Water Compliance Unit confirmed that Berwyn’s water department successfully completed two six-month rounds of lead and copper monitoring without exceeding the action level / 15ppb.   [Read More]
